With a BA in English and an MFA in Creative Writing (both earned at VCU), Claire Boswell knows a lot about words. She has spent years passing that knowledge on to students at institutions of higher education all around central Virginia.

After starting her instructional career as an advisor at VCU’s Writing Center, Claire went on to teach at Germanna Community College, Virginia Union University, and Randolph-Macon College. She continues to teach as an adjunct at VCU and as an English Instructor at Virginia State University. She also works as the faculty editor of plain china, VCU’s online anthology of the best undergraduate writing from across the country.

Claire’s stories have appeared in The RS500, Blue Crow Magazine, and Front Porch Flash Fiction. She has also plied her trade as a maker, creating clothes, jewelry and display pieces out of found objects.

Claire’s theater reviews can be found on the pages of Style Weekly magazine.
